She was born on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Her given title is Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson, the child of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. The mother of two is Mexican American and is American by citizenship. Since her early years her drive to become active in sports was strong. Gerina began to play golf when she was 15. Gerina finished her high-school education through Goddard High School. In high school, she took home in the New Mexico golf state tournament. Also, she was a volleyball player and competed on the level of state. She was enrolled at the University of Texas, Texas in the academic year. As a senior she was a winner of every tournament she entered. During her college career she was awarded her Conference USA Player of The Award and the Female UTEP Sports Athlete Award.
